Department of Commerce Department:
The Department of Commerce was set up in the year 2006-2007.Since its incorporation the department has played a pivotal role to shape the careers of commerce students in the various fields of fields of Management and Finance.
The department has been continuously striving to impart quality education in the commerce discipline. Along with theoretical learning an equal emphasis is given to impart practical exposure of students to the emerging areas of their interest.
In addition to the B.Com undergraduate classes the department also handles lectures in M.Com.

The department is committed to increase the quality of teaching and creating the interest of students to pursue commerce as field of continuing interest in future. The department enjoys a coordinated link with the industry wherein the students have a spontaneous interaction with the experts so as to get a better insight into the subjects.
There is an active involvement of the students from the arts and the commerce faculty wherein they get the adequate exposure to the various events and competitions at the intercollegiate and intercollegiate level.
The members of the department also actively participate at the various college level, state level, national and international level seminars to enrich and upgrade the latest concepts in the field of commerce.
The faculties of commerce also undertake the various minor and major research projects at the University and UGC levels so as to make the teaching more relevant and learning oriented.
2014-15:
- Inaugural lecture by Prin. B.R. Harad on “Indian Agriculture Economy.”
- Commerce forum organized “Word Business Competition”
- Commerce forum organized “Spell-Well Competition.”
2015-16:
- Inaugural lecture by Prin Dr. Shridhar Shetty from Mumbai.
- P. S. Pawar of K.M. Agrawal college Kalyan delivered lecture on “New Trends in Commerce.”
2016-17
- Commerce forum conducted Essay and Elocution competition on 12th July, 2016 in which 32 students were participated. P. S. Pawar and Prof. Prasanna Paralkar were invited as judges.
- Organised Mehandi Competition on 21st August, 2016 for giving the scope to the imagination & creativity of the students. In this competition 24 girls & 11 boys had participated Dr. Meena Bhandari and Prof. G. R. Vishe judged the performance of the competitors.
- As far as academic activities are concerned, a guidance lecture on preparation of competitive examination based on MPSC, UPSC examination was organised on 30th September, 2016. Prof. Chandrakant Chikane delivered a lecture on how to prepare for MPSC.
- Organized guidance lecture on Mental Health for the students of TY B.Com. Three volunteers from Prajapita Brahmakumari Vishwa Vidyalaya were invited as the expert speakers.
