It gives me great pleasure to extend a warm welcome on behalf of Janseva Shikshan Mandal’s Shantarambhau Gholap Arts, Science and Gotirambhau Pawar Commerce College, Shivle. The institution was established with the vision of spreading the light of education in rural areas. Inspired by the motto “Knowledge in Every Home,” Janseva Shikshan Mandal was founded in 1988 with the aim of providing quality education to students from rural and economically weaker backgrounds. Recognizing the growing need for higher education, the college was established in 1989 in Shivle village of Murbad Taluka.
Since its beginning, the college has worked continuously to provide meaningful learning opportunities and to support the academic growth of students. Today, it stands as an important center of higher education in the region and proudly remains the only grantable college in Murbad Taluka affiliated with the University of Mumbai. The successful completion of the third cycle of NAAC accreditation reflects our dedication to maintaining academic standards and institutional development.
Our institution believes that education is a powerful tool for social and economic change. Therefore, along with academic learning, we also encourage creativity, cultural activities, sports, and social awareness among students. These activities help students express their ideas, develop confidence, and build a sense of responsibility towards society.
In today’s fast-changing world influenced by technology and Artificial Intelligence, it is important to provide value-based education along with knowledge and skills. Our institution remains committed to shaping responsible and capable citizens. I sincerely appreciate the efforts of the Principal, teachers, non-teaching staff, and students, and I wish the institution continued success in the future.

Janseva Shikshan Mandal’s, Murbad is one of the well-known educational institutions in Thane district. It was established in 1988 through the efforts of Shri Shantarambhau Gholap and Shri Gotirambhau Pawar with the aim of spreading education in rural areas. To provide higher education opportunities to students from Murbad Taluka, Shantarambhau Gholap Arts, Science and Gotirambhau Pawar Commerce College was established on 10 July 1989 at Shivle village. Since its establishment, the college has been working with dedication to promote knowledge, discipline, and the overall development of students.
The college has earned recognition as an important center of higher education in the rural region of Thane district. Due to its continuous efforts toward quality education, the institution received ISO 9001:2015 certification during the academic year 2017–18. It also received the “Best College Award” from the University of Mumbai in 2008. These achievements show the institution’s commitment to academic excellence and continuous improvement.
The college provides various facilities such as modern laboratories, a well-equipped library, a gymnasium, and hostel facilities for girls. The institution also offers undergraduate and postgraduate programs along with skill development activities that help students improve their knowledge and abilities.
Along with academic learning, the college organizes cultural, sports, and social activities to encourage creativity and personality development among students. With the support of dedicated teachers, non-teaching staff, and management members, the college continues to progress steadily.
