The Department of sociology offers course up to S.Y.B.A. only.It gets sufficient students at F.Y. and S.Y. level.this one man department is headed by Mr.A. R. Shelke, Asst. Professor of sociology.Who has been teaching for 20 years.It conducts activities in collaboration with social science association.Sociology is the scientific study of society, including patterns of social relationships, social interaction, and culture. It is a social science that uses various methods of empirical investigation and critical analysis to develop a body of knowledge about social order, acceptance, and change. Many sociologists aim to conduct research that may be applied directly to social policy and welfare, while others focus primarily on refining the theoretical understanding of social processes. Subject matter ranges from the micro-sociology level of individual agency and interaction to the macro level of systems and the social structure.

Course objective :-
The modules incorporated in this paper educate the students about the inter‐relationship between economic development and population along with an exposition of the established theories of population. Issues related to demographic techniques and basic sources of demographic data in the Indian economy have also been included. Aspects of the population policy and the study of its social characteristics are other important components of the modules of this paper.
