Teachers and their Responsibilities:

Whoever adopts teaching as a profession assumes the obligation to conduct himself / herself in accordance with the ideal of the profession. A teacher is constantly under the scrutiny of his students and the society at large. Therefore, every teacher should see that there is no incompatibility between his precepts and practice. The national ideals of education which have already been set forth and which he/she should seek to inculcate among students must be his/her own ideals. The profession further requires that the teacher should be calm, patient and communicative by temperament and amiable in disposition.

Teacher should:

    1. Adhere to a responsible pattern of conduct and demeanor expected of them by the community.
    2. Manage their private affairs in a manner consistent with the dignity of the profession.
    3. Express free and frank opinion by participation at professional meetings, seminars, conferences etc., towards the contribution of knowledge.
    4. Maintain active membership of professional organizations and strive to improve education and profession through them.
    5. Perform their duties in the form of teaching, tutorials, practicals, seminars and research work, conscientiously and with dedication.
    6. Discourage and not indulge in plagiarism and other non ethical behavior in teaching and research.
    7. Abide by the Act, Statute and Ordinance of the University and to respect its ideals, vision, mission, cultural practices and tradition.
    8. Co-operate and assist in carrying out the functions relating to the educational responsibilities of the college and the university, such as: assisting in appraising applications for admission, advising and counselling students.

Teachers and Students

Teachers should:

    1. Respect the rights and dignity of the student in expressing his/her opinion.
    2. Deal justly and impartially with students regardless of their religion, cast gender, political, economic, social and physical characteristics.
    3. Encourage students to improve their attainments, develop their personalities and at the same time contribute to community welfare.
    4. Inculcate among students scientific temper, spirit of inquiry and ideals of democracy, patriotism, social justice, environmental protection and peace.
    5. Treat the students with dignity and not behave in a vindictive manner towards any of them for any reason.
    6. Pay attention to only the attainment of the student in the assessment of merit.
    7. Make themselves available to the students even beyond their class hours and help and guide students without any remuneration or reward.
    8. Aid students to develop an understanding of our national heritage and national goals.

   Teachers and Colleagues

Teachers should:

    1. Treat other members of the profession in the same manner as they themselves wish to be treated;
    2. Speak respectfully of other teachers and render assistance for professional betterment.
    3. Refrain from making unsubstantiated allegations against colleagues to higher authorities.
    4. Refrain from allowing considerations of caste, creed, religion, race or sex in their professional endeavor.

Teachers and Authorities

Teachers should:

    1. Discharge their professional responsibilities according to the existing Rules and adhere to procedures and methods consistent with their profession in initiating steps through their own institutional bodies and / or professional organizations for change of any such Rule detrimental to the professional interest.
    2. Refrain from undertaking any other employment and commitment, including private tuition and coaching classes which are likely to interfere with their professional responsibilities.
    3. Co-operate in the formulation of policies of the institution by accepting various offices and discharge responsibilities which such offices may demand.
    4. Co-operate through their organizations in the formulation of policies of the other institutions and accept offices.
    5. Co-operate with the authorities for the betterment of the institutions keeping in view the interest and in conformity with the dignity of the profession.

Teachers and Non-Teaching Staff

Teachers should :

    1. Treat the non-teaching staff as colleagues and equal partners in a cooperative undertaking, within every educational institution.
    2. Help in the functioning of joint-staff councils covering both the teachers and the non- teaching.

 

Teachers and Guardians Teachers should:

Try to see through teachers’ bodies and organizations, that institutions maintain contact with the guardians, their students, send reports of their performance to the guardians whenever necessary and meet the guardians in meetings convened for the purpose for mutual exchange of ideas and for the benefit of the institution.

Teachers and Society

Teachers should:

    1. Recognize that education is a public service and strive to keep the public informed of the educational programmes which are being provided.
    2. Work to improve education in the community and strengthen the community’s moral and intellectual life.
    • Be aware of social problems and take part in such activities as would be conducive to the progress of society and hence the country as a whole.
    1. Perform the duties of citizenship, participate in community activities and shoulder responsibilities of public offices.
    2. Refrain from taking part in or subscribing to or assisting in any way activities, which tend to promote feeling of hatred or enmity among different communities, religions or linguistic groups but actively work for national.

Code of conduct for Principal:   

College Principal should:

    1. Provide inspirational and motivational value-based academic and executive leadership to the college through policy formation, operational management, organization of human resources and concern for environment and sustainability.
    2. Conduct himself/herself with transparency, fairness, honesty, highest degree of ethics and decision making that is in the best interest of the college.
    3. Act as steward of the college’s assets in managing the resources responsibility, optimally, effectively and efficiently for providing a conductive working and learning environment.
    4. Promote the collaborative, shared and consultative work culture in the college, paving way for innovative thinking and ideas.
    5. Endeavor to promote a work culture and ethics that brings about quality, professionalism, satisfaction and service to the nation and society.
    6. Adhere to a responsible pattern of conduct and demeanor expected of them by the community;
    7. Manage their private affairs in a manner consistent with the dignity of the profession;
    8. Discourage and not indulge in plagiarism and other non ethical behavior in teaching and research;
    9. Participate in extension, co-curricular and extra-curricular activities, including the community service;

Code of conduct for Student-

    1. Every student must possess a valid Identity Card issued to him / her by the college authorities, with photograph bearing the signature of the The card must be kept on display ( worn around the neck.)
    2. Student’s attendance in lectures, practical, field visits is compulsory as per University guidelines. Accordingly every student must attend at least 75% of the total number of lectures / tutorials / practical engaged in each term of the respective academic year / in each academic
    3. Students are required to be present in classroom well in
    4. Male Students should behave decently with girl students and lady staff
    5. All students should maintain strict silence in the corridors, classrooms and library
    6. Students must be neatly and modestly dressed in the college
    7. Every student is responsible for taking care of college property and maintaining the cleanliness of the
    8. While representing the college in workshops, seminars, excursions, field visits, industrial visits, internships all students should follow utmost discipline and decorum.
    9. Every student should read the notices displayed by the college from time to time. Any ignorance or failure to read the notices will not be
    10. Library books, periodicals should be handled carefully. Any damage or loss of books by the students should be compensated for within 7 days.
    11. All Students are informed that they must carefully fill in the examination forms on or before the due date
    12. All students and their parents should note that discipline is the foremost aspect in granting admission to the college. 

STUDENT’S RESPONSIBILITIES

    1. To appreciate the goals and objectives of the college and contribute to their realization by participating in relevant college activities.
    2. To have a clear knowledge of the courses, admission policies, rules and regulations of the college.
    3. To understand the teaching-learning strategies and evaluation systems of the college.
    4. To follow the time schedules rules and regulations of the college.
    5. To undertake regular and intense study of learning materials.
    6. Participation in curricular & extracurricular activities.
    7. Demand quality education
    8. To make optimum use of the learning resources and other support services available in the college.
    9. To prepare for continuous internal assignments and examinations.
    10. To give feedback for systems improvement.
    11. To have faith and ability to pursue lifelong learning.
    12. To live as worthy alumni of the college.

 

Code of Conduct Non-teaching staff

    1. Every staff employed in the college shall discharge his/her duties efficiently and diligently and shall conform to the rules and regulations.
      1 (a) It shall be mandatory on the staff employed in the private college to do any work in connection with an examination conducted by the University or any college, which he/she is required to do by the Vice-Chancellor or the Registrar of the University/by the Principal of the College, as the case may be.
    2. No Staff employed in a college shall absent himself from his/her duties without prior permission. In case of sickness or absence on medical ground, a medical certificate to the satisfaction of the college authorities shall be produced within a week.
    3. No Staff employed in a college shall engage directly or indirectly in any trade or business. In the case of remunerative work like private tuition etc., specific sanction of the college authorities in writing shall be abstained.
    4. No staff employed in the college shall send any application for employment under any other agency, except through the secretary.
    5. When a staff employed in a college seeks to accept honorary work without detriment to his/her duties prior permission of the secretary in writing shall be obtained.
    6. Any staff employed in a college when involved in criminal proceedings shall inform the committee of each proceedings.
    7. No staff employed in a college shall engage himself/herself or participate in any political activity. She/he shall not associate with any political party or any organization which takes part in politics or shall subscribe to, or assist in any other manner, any political movement.
    8. No staff employed in a college shall contest or participate in or canvas for any candidate in any election.
    9. No staff employee in a college shall bring or attempt to bring any political or other influence on his/ her superior authority in a respect of his/her individual service interests.
    10. No staff employee in a college shall engage himself/herself or participate in any activity which is anti-secular or which tends to create disharmony in society or any in demonstration which is prejudicial to the interest of the sovereignty and integrity of India, the security of states, friendly relation with foreign states, Public order, decency or morality or which involve contempt of court, defamation or incitement to an offence.
    11. Work cooperatively with other staff member .Always be willing to take another staff member‘s advice. Likewise share your best practices with other.
